So I am looking at hard drives and I am debating which one might be best for me. So which is more important: The cache size or the "speed." I am looking at these two:

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6402AAEX 640GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

One has a 64 mb cache and the other has a 32 mb cache. One also has a "speed" of 3 gb/s, the other is 6 gb/s. So what is more important? Which is the better drive and why? Also, if there is a better drive that I did not see in that price range, please let met know!

Thanks!

To simply answer your question SATA3 is wasted on mechanical drives and there is no speed increase. Cache on the other hand can help greatly in certain instances. For 5 bucks more though, why not? lol
