Okay here is my problem. I am looking for an upgrade from my 750Gb HDD in my laptop (2.5" Drive) and I have been trying to find a nice 1TB to 2TB drive for it. I want to spend less then $150 if it's a 1TB and less then $250 for a 2TB. Ones I have been looking at are:
Newegg.com - Western Digital Green WD20NPVT 2TB IntelliPower 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Newegg.com - Seagate Momentus STBD1000100 1TB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive

I use my laptop for gaming, programming, Software testing, media, and video editing. I would like to know if you guys think either one of these will meet my specific needs for use or if you could suggest a better drive within my price range?

Current HDD:
Western Digital Blue
750Gb
5400 RPM
8Mb Cache

My current drive's specs suit me just well but I am looking for more space as all the movies, games, music, pictures, software, etc is eating up all my space.

Also on a side note could someone please explain to me the difference between the different colors of WD drives? ex: Blue, Black, Green?

Both of those drives are slow for every day use. If you are simply looking for something for storage I would suggest getting a faster smaller 7200rpm Black or Seagate Baracuda for your main drive and store everything else on an external.

looks like you cant get a higher speed on a laptop without sacrificing space.

for wd, green is a slower spinning drive that has some autosleep built in. it will save money by not running when you dont need it or spinning as fast when you do. good for storage. blue is a standard harddrive. black is a better performing hd with better warranty (generally i think)
