Bought my hp pavillion back in 02, so I don't believe it has the 48bit BIOS addressing support needed for the 160 gb hardrive upgrade. Now I understand that the bios itself can be upgraded, but I think it may be too much of a hassle. HOWEVER, I also heard that another alternative is to just simply get an IDE controller card that supports 48bot addressing.
