Hard drive ???

My 300gb hard drive always clicked when i played counter strike or any game and the computer stopped reading the hard drive for a couple seconds. While it stopped reading it my computer froze till it read it again.

I got a 200gb hard drive tonight and my computer is going faster now.

My 300gb hard drive that clicked was very hott when i got it out so i wondered if i need more fans or something.

Let the hard drive rest for awhile.

I don't know the solution to your problem, i still have my old 40GB hard drive sitting around because it did the same thing.

so if i let it rest for a few years will that do the trick?

I did that to a 40gb hard drive a long time ago and that did the trick.

I was just thinking if i had a hard drive cooler that wouldn't happen but i don't know.

imo, I doubt that a fans would help it much. But let it cool off for a bit and see it starting it up again does the trick. Even if it dosen't click for 2 minutes, you would know it must be an overheat issue. And then buying a Hard Drive cooler would be worth it.

yeah the hard drive works great but its when i am playing games then it clicks.

So i need a hard drive cooler?
