About $110 CAD for a 4830 which is better than a 9800GT/8800GT and then the 4850 is the next step up at around $140 CAD.

Newegg.ca - HIS Hightech H483FN512P Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.ca - SAPPHIRE 100245HDMI Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

All this is assuming you have a standard PCIEX16 slot and not an old AGP (ancient tech).

You could also go for something cheaper if need be, such as an HD 4670 or 4650, both of which would be better than a 6600.

Newegg.ca - SAPPHIRE 100255HDMI Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.ca - HIS Hightech H465FS512P Radeon HD 4650 512MB 128-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

But not a 8800...

Just spend the extra 30 CAD or so and get a card you can at least rely on.

What's not reliable about a 4670? And he did say 6600 - 8800, which is quite a big range. Knowing the budget helps.

A card that you can rely on to play games at a decent setting. Not that its not reliable in the sense that its just going to stop working after 2 days.

Knowing what psu and motherboard you had would be extremely useful information.

Without that info anything posted is just speculation.

Why not BC? The tax? I still prefer NCIX over the Egg. Besides, if you live near a BC store, it's free shipping.
