Default Graphic Card Advice

Hi all,

I am currently looking to upgrade my graphics card on the following spec.

AMD64 3000 (754 Socket) i think
1024mb Ram
Current GFX card FX5700 AGP

I am looking for a GFX card that supports pixelshader 3.0+ however i can't find any info my current motherboard so i'm not sure whether it will have PCI slot

If it does what sort of PCI gfx card with PS 3.0 could i buy with this current spec?

If not what kind of AGP Gfx card with PS 3.0 could i buy?

I am in the process of building a new computer at present but i'm going to give this one to my brother who wants it for NWN2

Cheers for any advice.

Well, I don't think there are many motherboards (if any) with BOTH PCIe and AGP slots. So if your current card is AGP, you'll need an AGP card (PCIe won't fit).

How much are you willing to spend on this?

I have about £150 - £180 to spend but may be able to stretch a little more

How would the BFG 7800GS fair on my current spec post on 1st post or the Gainward underneath that in terms of AGP?

Thanks thanks
