Default good cpu?

what is a good cpu for gaming and multitasking but doesnt have an outrageous price tag?

yea sorry about that my price is 220 or less for just the cpu. i wasnt shure if i should get a barebones or motherboard combo to start out but i was thinking the intel q6600 for a cpu. i want a quad core though

There are Phenom's in that price range.. but they are weaker in performance to Intel's Dual Cores..

If you are dead set on a Quad though...
