Just woundering if anyone can suggest a build that would be better for the same price . Either custom built, or i could put one together myself. BTW im in England.

thanks

also nukem, would the 550w psu be nessescery or could i make do with the generic 440w one?

Dont buy that. As thats in £'s you're from UK right?
Well anyway you can probably get better stuff than that for the same price. What is your budget first? and what are you using the pc for? Then we can get started.

around £600 inc VAT. It'll be used for gaming, i want it to be able to pay the newer games in the coming year or so, i don't mind if i can't run them with full everything just aslong as they're playable and look ok.

I want it to be dual core, and i'm not too fussed about SLI. 1GB of ram is the minimum, the HD size does not matter too much probably 160gb would do.

i've never made a PC, i could probably if i tried but i wouldn't vouch for its stability :p

Could you also please specify why i shouldn't buy the one above as i've had some pretty good feedback about it on other forums.

The reason Mentalist said to not buy that system, is because no-one knows what motherboard they've got in there. Pretty sure it's gonna suck at overclocking, something everyone seems to try later in the life of a PC regardless of what you imagined when you bought it. For them to be able to sell it as cheap as they are, they basically use awful, cheap, no-name brands that will propably die the second the warranty fails.

You will be better off building it yourself.

So, I'd have to agree with Mentalist on this one.

Because it will be overpriced as they will charge for them building it and posting to you. plus it wont perform well and what magouster said.
Anyway you want to buy your stuff from www.ebuyer.com www.scan.co.uk and www.overclockers.co.uk
