Good beginner's guide for comp-building?

Hey all, my tech savvy brother recently moved out of the house, so I was hoping to get a little technical know how in order to upgrade my gaming rig by myself. Do you guys know of any good beginner's guides that I could use to help me out? Many thanks in advance!
