A sig is a signature, it's what is in the bottom of each of his posts. You can have one yourself when you get over 40 posts. i7 is the latest processor series from intel, they are currently the best you can buy.

yeah, sorry for not clarifying. The i7 is a cpu that has 8 processing "cores", four physical and four logical. The E8400 has two physical cores.

here is the build i have

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

Newegg.com - ASUS P6T LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

Newegg.com - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Newegg.com - XFX PVT98WYDFH GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

the only thing that it lacks is an operating system...also you can switch the 9800+ for a GTX260

Newegg.com - EVGA 896-P3-1255-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

that comes to a grand total of $1000.08 with the 9800+....
with the GTX 260 its $1058.93

Wow thanks a lot Camatose!! yeah i'll definitly check into this..
does it handle games and such pretty well? cause it seems like an incredible deal compared to the XPS 630 or Area 51 750i and maybe even better quality

Alright one more quick question, if i buy all of the parts that you have listed comatose, do i have to worry about anything other than assembling it? is it recommended to have someone assemble it for you? and how much would a company such as HP or Dell try and sell this type of computer for?

You are getting the best deal for your money with this build. Don't soil the parts by getting it from HP or Dell. They overprice AND use crappy proprietary parts that have huge quality issues.

The only thing you have to worry about is assembling it, then installing the OS on the hard drive. It's easy enough to do on your own, and there are plenty of guides out there if you need help. Or we can help you, either way. :P
