Game Pc---HelP Plz

Ive saved up some moneys and have decided to build a new pc. My old 1.2ghz 384mb ram pc isnt cuttin it anymore. Well.... I do not have a bunch of money for one and I want somthing that I can upgrade in the future. Ive been wanting to build my own computer and thought I needed some help from some of u Experts out ther. If you guys could help me find somthing of good quality for about $600? I would really appreciate it. Just want somthing that can handle most games on hi quality and im a big internet gamer. Thanks....

Also i would like to know what sli is. I keep hearing its a waste of money.

well i'm not good with pricing in US dollars so i'll leave the others to that. SLI is a technology that allows two graphics cards to be used simultaneously for a single video output stream. two video cards bridged=twice the power basically or thats the idea. so yeah it kinda is a waste of money because it means not only having the more expensive motherboard required for SLI but two higher end nVIDIA GFX cards. some people at this forum are supporting a boycott of SLI lol.
