I've got a friend buying a new computer, and one question arose is the Pentium D, which I haven't heard of until recently. He's basically buying it for gameing. PLease give me feed back on this.

=================================

512 MB DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz (2 DIMMs)Hard Disk Drive
250 GB EIDE SATA II Hard Drive (7200 RPM)Video
128MB PCI Express ATI Radeon X300 SEScratch & Dent
Scratch & DentBase
XPS 400 Mini-Tower: Pentium D Processor 820 with Dual Core Technology (2.80GHz, 800FSB)Media Bay
16X DVD ROM Drive

I would consider a 16X DVD-Burner. Don't go for CD-RW, because you're limited to burning CD's, and DVDs store more data and cost less.

I'm guessing it's a laptop? Because the video card doesn't seem like one you could buy for a desktop.

Also, more RAM would be better.

if he knows about this, go for a pentium D 803 and then overclock the **** out of it... I saw an article on toms hardware where they overclocked the FSB of a 803 to huge multipliers.. with outstanding results.. 4.01 ghz I believe. but if you dont know about overclocking, it seems fine to me. I dont suggest intel, im a AMD fanboy though so you maybe shouldnt listen to me :p
