Default first time building a pc

I will be building my own gaming pc for the first time and just need to know what tools i will need and also if these pc parts will all work together. Should I pay a proffesional or is it easy enough to learn and build on my own?

Might save a couple bucks by buying at one place.

Try here: - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Online PC Discount Store, Buy Computer Accessories
They have good deals.

Tools? A screw driver and a pair of plyers... If that. Oh, and some zip-ties

Just remember to earth yourself out before you touch any components and always handle them by the sides of the board, never on the contacts, the top or the bottom.

Its easy enough to do. If you get to a spot where you don't know what you are doing, post up here. People will help. Or google your question.

You might want to think about grabbing a different CPU. Either the i5-2500k or the i7-2600k. Performance difference between the two isn't that great. The "k" is important though. Means its unlocked and you can overclock it until your comp runs so fast it is kicking itself in the butt.

Keep us posted on how you go!

I dont think i would get that power supply. I like corsair myself. perhaps this one: - Buy Corsair TX650 V2 650W ATX 12V Single Rail 53A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS Bronze - Corsair - CMPSU-650TXV2 - in Canada

i think youre paying a lot just to have the word nvidia on the side of your case. i think that this case is just great: - Buy Coolermaster Storm Scout Black ATX Tower Case 5X5.25 5X3.5INT 120MM & 140MM Red LED Fan No PSU - COOLERMASTER - SGC-2000-KKN1-GP - in Canada

maybe things are different now, but a water cooling system may be a lot to tackle for your first time (and you should put together your own computer; save the hundred bucks it would have cost and buy more/better stuff )

there is absolutely no reason to buy that bigfoot network card. just dont. save the money and buy a 6990 video card.

do you need a copy of win7?

also echoing above comments about the cpu.

good luck.

Corsair 550VX
1Tb Samsung Spinpoint F3
1Tb WD Caviar Green
2Tb WD Caviar Green
8gb DDR3 Corsair Vengeance 1600
Sapphire Radeon 6870

Found a pic I took a month ago when giving a speech on how to build a computer.
I recommend that you have all of the following tools, I always seem to find a use for them

In other words, a normal sized Philips screwdriver with a long slim shaft, 2 mini-screwdrivers (Philips and flat head), a knife, a flashlight, zip ties, and a multi tool.
Thermal paste is nice to have, but not necessary.
Build to be updated, a reminder to myself.
