u recommended an 8600gts but ur link was for a gt... but i think what u were talking about..... was the gt cuz there is no way a gts is 40 bucks more than a 7600 gs

The X1900GT for 110 bucks is where you wanna be at. Excellent price/performance I think and not much more than a 7600GS.

I would highly recommend you go with an AMD in that price range. The X2 3600 can be overclocked EASILY AND SAFELY to stock E6420 speeds with the stock cooler. However even if you aren't going to overclock that OVERCLOCKING MONSTER of a chip, at 1.9ghz the X2 is only about 10% slower than the E6300 in real world performance for about 1/rd of the price. You could then throw in a much better card and even an X1950Xt which is a SICK card and an X2 3600 with an X1950XT even at stock will DESTROY anything a fricking 7300GT or 7600GS can put out even if they had a Core 2 Extreme...if you would like I can put together an X2 3600 overclocking or non overclocking build around that budget for gaming that will eat up a C2D build.

7900GS would be much better than X1900GT and it cost the same.

Even 8600GT is a better choice than X1900GT

It is much more than %10 slower

According to these benchmarks ^^, 3800+ is about %20 slower than E6300. So, 3600+ would be around %25 slower than E6300

E6300 in real world performance for about 1/rd of the price

3600+ cost is around $70 on newegg, and it is around 1/3 the price of E6600, not E6300
