everything looks pretty good.
i would suggest a motherboard with a little better reputation. this asus is only 15 dollars more and is probably a world better:
Newegg.ca - ASUS M3A78 Pro AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

this ram has a better command rate and stock timings than the ram you have selected. its also cheaper and has a 25 dollar rebate. i'd go with it.
Newegg.ca - OCZ SLI-Ready 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I would change the cpu to a Intel e5200, it's faster, runs cooler, uses less power, and a better overclocker than the 6000+. I would get a Biostar TP45HP motherboard to go with it.

Newegg.ca - Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Newegg.ca - BIOSTAR TForce TP45HP LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

either that or get a 65 watt cpu
like a 5000+ series. their better for overclocking and stay cool.

my 5400 black edition is running stable at a safe 3.255 at 38C load

and get a reputable motherboard. i would get a abit or asus, but theres many out there with a great reputation

The E5200 witha semi decent cooler murders virtually all the AMD cpu's only the phenom 9850 survives and even then its a close call

If I subbed

Newegg.ca - ASUS M3A78 Pro AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

and

Newegg.ca - OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Instead of the old mothebaord and ram would it still run and work, I'm not thinking I'll need over do it on most of these parts.

yes they will work fine. i would still change the ram to the sticks i suggested though. but what you have listed will work fine together.

Looks like a decently solid build...my opinions on the parts have already been mentioned; like the ASUS board, always a good choice.

By the way, I love how your case is the most expensive part of the computer, haha. :P Nice.

Well with the build he is making, I think the AMD cpu will suit his needs. It doesn't seem like he's going for anything stellar. I think he did a pretty good job of picking out his parts.

Definitely consider getting a motherboard with a better reputation, this can make your life much easier in the long run and remove a lot of headaches.
