Basically, I have a few questions about what more I need to get and what is compatible.

Question #1. Is my hard drive compatible with my motherboard? I've never looked at hard drives much, what is the difference between SATA and ATA? Do you have any reasons why this hard drive would be a bad choice?

Question #2. Does the processor/motherboard and case come with fans? My case has spots for two 80mm fans and one 120mm fan. Do I need to buy these, or one for my processor, seperately?

Question #3. Is anything else not compatible?

All help is **greatly** appreciated!

Well all i can say is that, that is a horrible build if you are gaming and whatnot.

SATA II is backwards compatilbe with sata I so your hdd is fine.

SATA has a higher data transfer speed, then ATA and sata uses the smaller cables rather then the big bulky cables of ATA

why are you getting 4*512 as i believe the 2*1GB kit is cheaper.

s478 and AGP are old and you will not be able to upgrade this rig

i would get the X-FI xtreme music for only 20 dollars more.

your processor comes with a heatsink and fan, you can add more case fans if you please but you dont have to

Alright, I'll upgrade to the X-Fi

I'm not sure what AGP is really... and I'm more than willing to get a different motherboard. What is a newer socket for intel processors?

You said this was a horrible build for gaming (which is what I do). Any reasons beyond what you posted?

Edit: On the ram, it said all this 'dual channel kit' crap and I wasn't sure what that was... which is why I didn't get it.

Are you going to be gaming?

if you are here is a nice build, and why do you need to stick with inte?

Yes, I plan to do mostly gaming. What would you recommend changing?

Also, what is wrong with intel? I guess I don't need to stick with them... but I have no reason not to.

Well it has been known that amd is better for gaming and intel is better for multi tasking unless u get into the dual cores and stuff then the amd dual cores blows intel away. Most of the poeple on this site leans more on amd for gaming and intel for multi tasking however i jsut built a intel rig and it games great altho i haven't tried out alot of games on it jsut a few but it does the job it needs to do. if i was you i would do some searching around about intel vs amd and the pros and cons about it both and u can find the right one for u to get in the long run. i would go for a pci-e slot in ur mother board cause the new 7800gt if u wanted to upgrade it in the long time don't come in AGP yet. and i odn't know but there probably some other things that don't come in AGP.
