External Raid Controller?

Is there an external Raid controller that would allow me to get a bunch of old HD's and set them in data stripping mode, so it could access the info fast and store a lot even though the HD's are old and small?

no... definately not a cost effective one anyway...

Sorry to burst your bubble. I think a new motherboard with RAID capabilities would be more affordable.
