External hdd power supply

Hi,

The power supply cable for my ext hdd comes in two pieces . . . one part goes from the ext hdd and has the adapter box at the end of it. The second part is plugged into the adapter and is then plugged into the wall. The second part of the power cable is no longer any good and I need to buy another one. I Googled it but can't find where I can buy these types of power cables, either one part or both of them. Any body have any ideas?

Could you post what model your ext hdd is so we can get an idea of what kind of power cable it has?
