Default External Hard Drive

I want to buy an external hard drive for my laptop. I'd like to spend under $150. Does anyone have any recommendations? I saw a 500gb for $125. I think it was Beyond Micro who makes it. Thanks.

Well, it really depends on how much you need.

If you only have an 80 gb HD in your laptop, there is really no need for more than say a 160 GB ext.

Brands like Western Digital, Seagate, and Fantom are probably the best IMO for ext. HD's.

Newegg.com - Fantom Titanium-II TFD250U8 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Retail
^^ More than what you even need, but still awesome deal^^^

It's $200 now but if you watch it sometimes it goes on sale. I got mine for $89 and thats pretty good for 500 gb

I have this hard drive in a 250gb, its pretty good, I'm satisfied and it's definitely not a bad price. I bought mine at staples and spent like $130(ripoff). You can get this 500gb for a similar price. It doesn't have one touch backup but I don't know if you want to back up your entire hard drive anyway
