hi there,
sadly a few days ago my external hard rive fell on the floor nd now it wont boot up, jsut makes a clunking noise :( think it has gone to the cleaners to be hones. anyone have any ideas how to fix this because there is information on the drive...
when i opened it up i realised it was a normal internal hard drive in the middle that was being used. i wondered what i would need to do to just simpley insert a internal drive into the device in place of the other one and make it work on plug and play idea. is there anything i need to install/
thanks for the help

Unless it's incredibly complex, you should just be able to pop a new internal 3.5" IDE or SATA drive in (depending on which it is).

Make sure it has a standard set of data and power cables and that you make note of the jumpers on the old drive and have the new drive's settings mirror the old one's.
