again, I'm posting this on behalf of a friend. we're looking at an older dell optiplex here. 2 sticks ram, one card slot used for ethernet, cd drive floppy drive. ok, right after the boot screen, it comes up with an error... NTLDR is missing. I don't know what this is or if it's fixable. second, how do I disable the "cover was removed" message? guess that's all for this post. later!

umm if you have a windows xp install cd of the current operating system then you can repair install it and it will work find for the most part unless the hdd is shot
