Mobo: Gigabyte Ga-Ma78g-ds3hp
CPU: Amd Phenom 2 x4 920 2.8ghz
Ram: OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
HD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB
Video: Nvidia geforce 8600 GTS
PS: Antec EA500 ATX 12V 500W
Installed everything, went through post fine. Tried to install Winxp pro and got error 7.
Read any Pci cards could be the problem. So took out all cards and tried with the onboard video, error 7.
Went to Microsoft and learned bad ram can be the cause. Tried both sticks separate, same error. So maybe both are bad?
Ran 1 pass of memtest 86+, no errors.
So tried a couple other things.
Hooked up old hard drive to new rig and tried reinstalling winxp, error 7.
The old drive is slow and hangs but I'm still able to post this.
Gonna run more passes of Memtest.
Could not having the Mb/cpu/ram configured right cause this?
