My friend just sold me an older sony vaio laptop for cheap. I am looking to erase the memory and install everything fresh. Preferebly to a C: wiping out Windows. So I want to erase everything and install my own version of Windows. Can anyone help me as to how this is done. I will get all the necessary drivers for all the hardware in it. I believe it just has a CD-Rom drive in it. I am just using it for some of my older programs and games.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks alot for any help
Mike

if your useing windows xp cd you can reformat the hard drive form that and install windows.. unless the laptop has a floopy drive then you cna jsut reformat the hd with a windows 98 cd which is sopuse to be the best one to clear the information out. www.bootdisks.com you can find it but it is easier just useing the windows xp cd
