Still looking into buying new ram.

I was helped in another topic regarding brand and type of ram to purchase, the only thing I'm not sure about is the Ecc I read about, would anyone know what type this computer needs?

Thanks.

Compaq Presario 5000T

128 MB of Ram

Windows Xp Professional

Intel Pentium III

863MHZ

The Ram card has reads -

MT8LSDT1664AG
PC100-222-620
120MB
Synch
100MHZ-CL2

Has a M logo with a loop around it.

You don't want ECC. ECC RAM is basically only for high-end servers.

You just need PC100 RAM.

No choice, kind of slow now, going to help it along with 512 of ram.

Thanks, I will look for non-ecc ram.

Will it say SDRAM?

SDRAM PC-100 or SD-RAM PC-133. Both will work, but the 133 will run at 100 speeds. PC-133 hard easier to find nowadays, so you will probably end up with one of those. Also useful for overclocking (if all modules would be 133).
