e6300 and thermal compound?

in reading the manual for the intel core 2 duo processor, there is no mention of thermal compound... in the instructions, it goes through seating the processor on the board, and then goes right into putting on the heatsink with no mention of thermal compound.... have they done away with thermal compound or what?

check if there is already thermal compound on the heatsink, cuz they have that for AMD processors.

Regardless I would get some as5 and a better cooler if you oc or have bad case cooling but yeah the heatsink should have a pad or paste pre-applied and should be covered.
