Default Dual GPU Question

I have an AMD A10-5700 APU with Radeon(tm) HD graphics, I have been told this means the GPU is intergrated with the CPU is that right?

And my main question is what is the best GPU I can crossfire with my current GPU and is there a way to replace my current GPU without changing the CPU.

Cheers

You can't crossfire a PCI-e GPU with your integrated video.

You can get any PCI-e video card that will work. By default, it should switch from onboard to your card.

Why not?

Cause unless you know more than AMD, AMD says you can hybrid xfire with up to a 6670.
And here's a toms proving it
Graphics: Fewer Shaders, Better Efficiency : AMD Trinity On The Desktop: A10, A8, And A6 Get Benchmarked!

That said, a 6670 isn't great, so if youre gaming, buy a good gpu and forget about hybriding it.

I thought that you can't crossfire between CPU/GPU and PCI-E/GPU?

AMD can Hybrid Crossfire, but it's only to take 2 crappy GPUs to make a less crappy Crossfire setup. Best bet is to just get a more powerful single GPU setup.

I thought that might be the case, but how could I replace the intergrated GPU? I would have to buy a new CPU right?

No, PCI-e would automatically override your integrated.

You don't replace the IGP. You just use a PCI-E card instead of the onboard.

Thanks for all the answers, much appreciated!

Edit: What GPU would you propose for around 200-300 dollars?
