Default Does 1gb DDR really help with Athlon XP nForce 2 system?

I scored my system using 512mb of RAm and the full 1GB of Ram on 3dMARK05. I only got a 3% performance increase with twice the DDR RAM! Is this because of the limited bandwidth of the socket A nForce 2 system? Would there be a bigger difference with athlon 64?

It really helps depending How much is loaded into memory. If a game has a bunch of Terrain detail;, Player data, ETC it will eat memory and be VERY useful. EX i've seen lineage 2 take up to 400/500mb for it alone

the idea of ram is when physical memory runs out it will eat at the pagefile Which is on the hard drive and be SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
