Do I need a sound card with Win 7?

Will getting a sound card make a difference with Windows 7? I'm debating on whether or not to get it for my build.

Unless you are an audiophile or want surround sound i wouldn't bother.

I don't think you really will need it.

What's your board you're choosing to go with your new rig? Chances are, the onboard will be solid enough for you to have no worries about sound quality (to a non-audiophile that is)

If you are only concerned with having adequate sound, Vernong is correct by saying your mobo of choice will likely have a decent onboard sound system. No frills, but a fairly decent onboard built-in sound capability.
