I just wanted to see peoples inputs on these two builds which one is better and such.

Basically im looking for overall performance. I am going to be running many 3D drafting applications and some heavy gaming like World of Warcraft. I want it to do these tasks with ease very little if any freezing or stalling. I basically wanted to know whether to pick the AMD build or the INTEL build and what opinions you have on the parts in the build if i should make any changes. I would like to keep it around the same price.

Your links are broken there matey.

If you're trying to choose between the builds, I'd go with the second one. You could save a good bit of money.

The X4 955 is a waste of money to be honest, I would just get the X4 940. Also, don't get the Gigabyte board in the second build, DDR3 is worthless with AM3.

Here, I reworked your build for you.

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
Newegg.com - G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives
Newegg.com - XFX GX260NADFF GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Newegg.com - LG Black 22X (CAV) DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X (CAV) DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD±R DVD Burner - CD / DVD Burners

That all comes to $776.47 after shipping, and you get 60 bucks back in MIRs ($716.47).

We can tweak it if you want. You don't absolutely need memory with those low timings, but it would only save you 7 ish bucks to go to the next step down with 5-5-5-15 timings.

I swapped out the PSU because the Corsair is a lot better. More expensive, but worth it. With as much money as I saved you on this build, it doesn't matter much anyway. :P

I picked out the x4 940 because the x4 955 is basically an extra 56 bucks for 200mhz more. Waste of money. The board it's bundled with is great, I have it myself.

Picked out the LG burner because it has free shipping. A dollar more, but cheaper since there was shipping costs on the ASUS.

So there ya go. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

So you would pick the second build you just made over the intel build ?

Also just wondering since u put DDR2 memory in im assuming that there is not much of a difference between that and DDR3?

And on top of all of that you saving me money is great lol

Also i want to make sure with that build im not sacrificing much performance at all.

I like saving money but i want this computer to be close to really really high end.

Also is that enough memory to run Vista Ultimate 64bit ?

Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

^ was thinking of upgrading the ram to that 1066 speed

mayb also getting two of those sets to have 8 GB of ram

I run alot of heavy ram programs at once so i just want to make sure i have enough to run everything really smooth.

You won't seem much of a difference between DDR2 800 and 1066, and that kit you picked isn't as good for overclocking. I have the PI Blacks, and trust me, they rock. No point in getting 8gb either, 4gb is plenty. The only reason you would need 8gb is if you were running a bunch of VMWares.

I'm saving you money and making sure you have better performance too.
