Default Dell Latitude D620 Video Card Upgrade

Hello,

Recently my school gave me a Dell Latitude D620 Laptop and so far I like the laptop minus the terrible LCD screen(my 4 year old HP laptop looks better) .... Anyway, the laptop included a Intel graphics chipset. The school will allow me to upgrade parts on it, so my question is can this laptop be upgraded for a dedicated video card or can it only use integrated? I searched Google on this for about 2 hours today and couldn't find any information on it other than the optional Nvidia card for it which I assume Dell integrates as well. My knowledge on laptops is a bit limited since I really don't mess with them too much. Thanks for any assistance!

You cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop without a motherboard upgrade. Period.

Only a few laptops can do a video upgrade and even fewer without a full motherboard upgrade.
This is the best one your laptop can take. It has a 64mb (dedicated) Quadrio 110m built in, basically a Geforce 4200ti. It's notsuper hard to install but it can be tough if you don't know your way around a laptop.

Appreciate the help guys.... Though I've built and repaired tons of PC's, I have very limited experience with laptops as I have owned just one and I never cared about messing with that one. I've been enlightened just a little though for future reference
