Agreed. But your average buyer doesn't want take the time and efforts to research sellers and products. Ebay is an excellent place to buy cheap things. I have been ripped off once before, and PayPal was reasonable quick to re-credit my account (2 days or so).
I find it amusing that so many do not seem to realize the similarities to Amazon in terms of reliability. Many of the products sold on amazon are not sold by Amazon, but through Amazon, similar to Ebay. There are independent sellers selling items on both websites, and any seller could give you a different result as opposed to another. The main difference between the two being that Ebay emphasizes online auctions, where Amazon mainly sells through direct payment.
