CPU toasted. RMA to AMD likely to succeed?

My cpu just fried due to the heatsink malfunctioning. All of its thermal paste is all over the chip, and so it is obvious the thing was on at least for a bit. What have your experiences been when trying to rma an AMD processor? Do they ever refuse to send a replacement? Can they easily tell if it was a user made error? How long does it usually take to get a replacement?

was it a stock heatsink or not? if it wasnt stock im sure that theres some policy & if it was stock im sure theres another policy

if its stock i think you should be able to get it replaced but you should call or email them and talk to them.

clean the processor till it looks like it was when it came out of the box. THEN try the RMA.
