do i need to buy anything for my CPU? Mine was a retail AMDX2 and do i have to
buy a cable for it to hookup to the MOBO or do you just snap it on?

If you bought the retail box, it will come with a CPU cooler (heatsink). You do not need to buy a cable for it, because the cooler already has one attached, and you just need to connect it to the CPU_FAN header, on the motherboard.

All retail boxes come with the necessary parts. No need for anything extra.

Depends. I'd prefer them long, so I can easily manage the wires to hide them. And I also don't have to worry about it being too short. I use 36".

ok i though so but just to make sure heres my CPU I bought just so you can check if u want.

Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane 2.1GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail

Nice choice dude thats the CPU I m using at the moment and I got it over clocked to 2.3ghz (without raising any voltages). More then likely I can get it up to 2.4ghz maybe up to 2.5ghz on stock heat sink without much heat transfer. Never mind my motherboard sucks, I gotta look into getting a better one first.
