As some of you may know, i made a thread a while ago regarding the 7970 or 7970 black edition. I settled with the 7970 (not BE).

Anyway, i thought i wouldn't have a problem with my CPU/Motherboard choice, but as i started looking (a few minutes ago) i realized i have no idea which motherboard is better than the other...

My PSU is corsair 750W
RAM: Gskill 8GB
Case: Antec 1200

What i need is a good CPU/Motherboard recommendations.

I want something that's not too expensive but not too cheap (bad quality cheap).

I was looking at the i5-2500k or the 2600k. Maybe even the 2700k if im feeling ambitious. :p

my budget is whatever seems necessary. i would like to keep it below 500 if possible?

Thanks a lot guys. i truly appreciate it!

Unless you do heavy rendering, the extra processing power of the i7 will likely not be worth the extra cost in comparison to the i5 for gaming performance.

The i5 2500k is a great gaming CPU

Here is a nice motherboard too.

Do you have a CPU cooler?
