Default CPU Help

If i were to get a intel core 2 duo 1.86GHz, would that be better then a intel pentium D 3.0GHz? which one would be better for mainly gaming? I was thinking that the pentium d would be better just cuz it's 3 ghz, but i'm a compuer noob. so would a core 2 duo 1.86 GHz be faster then a pentium d 3 GHz? plz help. ty

Definetly get the Core 2 Duo .Clock speeds don't always mean a lot and in this case especially . Get the C2D.

since it's duo does it mean like both of them have 1.86 GHz? or is it just mainly 1.86.

Yes they will both run @ 1.86 GHz.
