Heh, I still have a pump from around 2008 when everyone was doing custom loops, ran 24/7 for 5 years, and still runs today. Wasn't adjustable, ran at full speed, as PP said, these are pumps meant to run 24/7 at full speed, they are essentially based off of older style pumps, which are based off of pumps used in aquarium setups. The pump on my Aquarium is VERY similar to the old DD12v-D5 by Liang and has been going for the same amount of time, at full throttle. The few old school pumps that you could change the speed of the pump failed more often if ran at a lower speed.
