A CPU that goes well with a GTS 250

I am looking for a CPU that can finish my budget build. I do alot of gaming, so a rather high performance CPU will be good, and the price range is anything under 200$. It can be Duo or Quad core. And I'm NOT planning to overclock my CPU.
My motherboard socket is a LGA 775. The rest of my specs:
4 GB RAM
Nvidia GTS 250 1 GB
Motherboard: nVidia nForce 630i

Have you already bought your Motherboard? You'd probably save some money going AMD socket AM3 and get better performance.
