Couple of hdd questions

I just have a few questions about the way my hdds, here's how there set up right now:

Primary HDD:
-Master = WD 160G (windows xp and main storage)
-Slave = SG 10G (empty except for paging file)

Secondary HDD:
-Master = DVD/CDR
-Slave = SG 40G (empty)

First, is it ok to have a hdd slave to an optical drive or would it be better the other way around and second, whats the best way for me to set up my paging file? As of right now I have 4095 MB on the smaller Seagate.

It would be better for the optical drive to be the slave, I believe.

Thanks, should I switch the jumpers or the ide cable? The jumpers are set to cable select right now. Does anyone know about the paging file?

Yes just change the jumpers. Cable select as i've found is it and miss...

As for the paging file, i believe having that on the second HDD is okay, i'm sure it would be a bit faster if it was on the same disk so it wouldn't have to travel through that slow *** IDE cabling.

Well I read somewhere that being on the same hdd as the operating system slows it down :freak:
