Could someone recommend a laptop? I want the highest specs I can get, my price range is up to about $3,000.

Dell has the XPS laptop, my familes got a XPS desktop and its great, alienware have great computers too.

Ah OK, thanks for the XPS advice though. I'm going to get a few more opinions first on what to get though.

What do you need it for?

Lennovo makes some really excellent laptops, but they're meant for buisness use. Dell's lattitute line is apparently really nice too

PS> If price and batterylife mean anything to you, avoid the big screens. A 14.1" wide+ screen will be way cheaper and last way long, and with just as good a picture. You can always just pick up a couple used 20" crt monitors to plug into it if you want to watch movies at your house or something. Theyre dirt cheap now

Well, playing a few games, such as The Sims 2 (with all EP's), things like that. Some office applications, and maybe some entertainment.

if you can spend 3g's go for :: HYPERSONIC PC SYSTEMS :: its the best site for low cost sli based desktop replacement laptops other places include cyberpowerpc.com or alienware dell in my opinion is insanly overpriced and you dont get very many options, raid, sli etc.
