Default Could I have damaged my psu?

I am pretty sure my psu died on my brand new pc. Now, i am not sure if it was my fault or not. Can plugging in the power cords a certain way make the supply break? I am about to run to CompUsa to get a free psu check, but if it is broken i don't know if i should get a new one. What if more than just the psu is damaged?

I got an Antec Neopower v.2 480 wat psu.

Do you mean from the Wall Socket to the PSU or from the PSU to the board and drives or what?
