any suggestions for a good core 2 duo mobo? preferably with SLI but not required for around $200

None of the P35 motherboards support SLI. If you want the SLI option, I would suggest the MSI P6N Platinum.

The E6850 isn't worth it, when actually for a cheaper price, you can get a quad core processor. Specifically the Q6600. Get it from ClubIT.com, as they probably have the cheapest price for the Q6600.

For the motherboard, I would not worry about SLI, because you can just get one powerful graphic card. So I would suggest the ASUS P5K Deluxe.

I would get Q6600 instead of E6850 because it is $20 cheaper
