How important is the contrast ratio. Can you tell the difference between 500:1 and a CRT monitor? I am going to buy my first LCD monitor. And i was comparing prices. I am pretty much down to two monitors. One is a widescreen w/ contrast ratio of 500:1, and the other is 4:3 size and contrast ratio of 1400:1. I think I would prefer a widescreen, but is the 500:1 a good ratio, or should i go with the 1400:1? The 1400:1 does cost a bit more.
Basically is 500:1 a good ratio? or should I spend more for a better ratio. If I should spend more what is the minimum ration I should get.
