Yeh; I got a lot of help working out custom parts and went to order them...newegg doesn't work for me. I can't access their secure server on any computer in this house. I called my ISP and they can't resolve the connectivity issues with just that one site, either. I can connect to frys.com fine, though. How does that site compare to newegg as far as prices?

try clubit

generally the only advantage of newegg is the customer service. other then that newegg's prices aren't overly competitive

meh, i would disagree. tiger direct has good pricing from time to time but fails at everything else. there are some items where its better to go somewhere else, other then the egg, but thats rare.

Could someone help me design a computer for $400-800 that's capable of playing Chrysis and Lord of the Rings Online using websites other than newegg? Or upgrades for my current computer, same budget, to play the games above.

My old computer is: HP Pavilion Media Center a1473w Desktop PC - Product Specifications

Clubit, tiger direct and frys.com all work for connectivity. Only newegg gives me trouble. I don't know what they've done to set their website up differently from the others.

Would my current monitor and case be compatible for reuse? Otherwise running directly on 804 without case/keyboard/mouse/monitor/dvd drive runs over budget by far, especially considering it isn't a dvd drive. Also, does that drive above come with Windows Vista installed or would I need to get the operating system separately? My old computer's drive has XP.

DVD drive: I have
Hard drive

*
200 GB SATA
*
7200 rpm

16X DVD(+/-)R/RW (+/-)R DL LightScribe drive

Could it be reused?

Case...all I can find is it says 'Tower', no actual dimensions.

Monitor is... HP Pavilion MX70 : Read reviews and compare prices at Ciao.co.uk
