Default Computer repair

I'm attempting to repair my computer. The machine makes a loud screeching noise when power is pressed and will not boot. No BIOS screen is displayed, but the power indicator light does come on. I'm wondering if this is power supply, motherboard, or hard drive? Can anyone help?

Your poll is useless. Take the side panel off and find out what's making the screeching noise.

Is it actually a Screetching noise or a high pitched tone from the MB speaker?

Try disconnecting it, does that stop the screetching sound?

Agreed, you could easily take two screws off the side panel and just see what is making the noise. Otherwise you are going to waste money and purchase a part blindly.
