Yeah, one thing though...I don't know if someone has mentioned this before, but don't get Norton, there are many good FREE anti-virus programs such as: Avast!

Don't get the free ones, AVG sucks and Avast is total bloatware (think: AOL). I do agree however that norton sucks. Get Nod32.

who cares about anti virus, i mean that is just as important but right now we are talkign about the parts for the comp then once it is build we can start talkign about the anti virus. I don't want to seem mean here lol, but I just want to stay on topic.

lol that is what i said. Heck man wen i was 13 i had a 500mhz celeron and 256mb pc100 ram, wiht a 20 gig harddrive and an integrated videocard. That was my gaming rig too lol. I am 16 now though so i moved up lol. It's hard to make a good rig when you don't work. Thats why this summer i am making a new one. See this post to check it out:

yeah if all she is doing is emailing and photo and videocamera then a $300-$400 budget would do just fine.
