im on a 500-550 dollar budget and i dont need a vid card or a monitor these are the parts i picked out

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor

ASPIRE X-Dreamer ATXB3KLW-BL Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ATX 420W power supply for AMD/Intel Power Supply

CORSAIR XMS 512MB (2 x 256MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory

AOpen Beige 16X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 16X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2M Cache E-IDE/ATAPI DVD Burner

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6Y080M0 80GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive

MSI K8NGM2-FID Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

if you have any comments about any of the parts or have a better product for about the same price range i would apreciate the help

it looks good enough. you may want to replace the generic power supply when you can thought for a good brand like Antec. the power supply should be fine for the moment but keep in mind that the power supply carries the whole system so if it fails so could the rest of your computer.

Looks good, but I would get a stick of 512MB of ram instead of 2 x 256 because in the future if you want to upgrade to a higher amount of ram then only one slot would be taken up instead of 2.

good point. it also makes future upgrades cheaper and more effective in that you only have to add 1x512mb stick to be running dual channel
