Default computer freezes for a few min on start up

Ok the other night I turned off my computer with no problems the entire time while it was on so the next morning I turned it on and it froze on the screen where if you hit Delete it will take you to the bios screen for about 2-3 min, then it was fine the rest of the time I used it. So I didn't think anything of it and then I restarted my computer later today and it did the same thing what do you think could be the problem. it completely freezes though I can't go into the bios or anything like that but once it gets past that there isn't any problems.

Default

sounds like a hardware detection problem most likely an IDE drive although it could be any optical drive or hdd.
