my original plan was to spend $800 total for the complete build. but come to realize i need to spend more so......

is all compatible ? any suggestions ?

also please recommend a good quality (cheap) 19" flat panel monitor.

Thanks
Greg

good machine though you are over paying for the venice. I got mine for 155. also you don't need a 600w psu. get something for 50$ at around 450w, that should be sufficient. my purepower 420w psu was 36$ and I built a 754s and a 939s with two of them

It all looks compatible. You should just get like a 500 watt PSU from newegg for around 50 bucks. Tell us before you buy it though. - Charlie

Come to think of it, if you want to save money, just get 1 GB. That's plenty for almost anything also.

i was suggested that on another forum but so far this one is a lot better. i might consider it. thinking i can always add later.

is that PSU good ?

any other suggestions ?

i say 2gb is worth it. also, i see you have the modem there... i don't think you'll be able to do very smooth online gaming on dial-up :p sucks to have the connection as the bottleneck

You could go with 2GB but unless you use meory-intensive things like Photoshop or video-editing programs, or play memory-intensive games, I don't think you'd notice much of a difference from 1GB.

At least, I've never noticed any difference between 1GB and 2GB machines.
