Question Compatibility

Hey! i was hoping someone can help me out, i was wondering if an intel core i5 processor 650 is compatible with a dell 0RY007 motherboard? the processor on the dell motherboard is an intel pentium dual cpu @ 2.00 GHz, thanks in advance for the help!

According to that, the board is a socket 775 - sounds like Core 2 Duo / Core 2 Quad are the highest you can go. That thread mentions the e8500 and e8600 specifically. The i5 650 is a socket 1156.

i5 requires an 1156 "P55 Chipset" board. Those boards can use the i3 through i7 for socket 1156.
