I'm not too tech smart, but I'm going to build a new pc soon and I wanted to know if this is all compatible and how good it will all be if you know.

I already own a CD-RW drive that I will use and I will use the 250 GB HD I already own.
 
Looks good except why don't you go for AM2....939 is getting old. Go for AM2 for future upgradability. And also the ram....if you already have 512 why not just get another single 512 instead of getting 2x256. You won't be able to run dual channel that way. You could sell your 512 and get an even better 2x1gb of ram. For AM2 you're going to have to change the cpu and mobo obviously. And for the ram you have to get DDR2.
